Humble, Texas, located in Harris County, has a population of 15,133 according to the 2010 census. It was in 1828 when the first person believed to have arrived in the Humble area was Joseph Dunman. This area quickly developed and became a center of commercial activity due to the region’s large oil industry and the nearby San Jacinto River. The town is named after one of the original founders/settlers who opened the first post office in his home and later served as Justice of the Peace. His name was Pleasant “Plez” Humble and also did business in the area with wood, fruit and as a practicing attorney.
We find the namesake for this great town intriguing because “HUMBLE” is also an extremely “PLEASANT” place to live, work, and raise a family. As families move into town to build or purchase new or existing homes, one of things they will quickly become aware of is the challenge of maintaining a clean home. The warm, humid climate, along with ample trees that provide a lot of shade leave HUMBLE with the not so pleasant eyesore of many streaks, stains, and various other kinds of marks all over our homes. Many of these stains are algae based mold and mildew streaks that contain living spores which spread to other parts of the property with wind and rain, and can even drift onto neighboring properties as well. In addition, cob webs, dirt daubers, and other organic stains can have a negative impact on the look of your home. Over and above the unpleasant sight this creates for you and your neighbors, this will adversely affect the value of your property over time.
